  • Why should I use Apartment Butler?

    If you're busy and want a little extra help from a trusted provider, we're here for you.

    With just a few clicks in the Apartment Butler app, you can schedule one-time or recurring housekeeping, pet care, laundry, or dry cleaning. If you have any issues, we provide 18-hour live Concierge support to make sure your experience is perfect.

  • Who are you sending into my home?

    Your home is your sanctuary, and you need to trust anyone who comes in. Your Butler will be a professional who does this for a living. They are background checked, bonded and insured, top-rated by your neighbors, and trusted by your community's leasing team.

  • How do you get in? Do I need to arrange to get you a key?

    It's all taken care of. We work directly with the Leasing Team at your Apartment Community. They let your Butler into your room at the right time, so you never need to think about it.

  • How do you make money? Do you charge high prices?

    Good question! No, our prices are very competitive (generally lower than what you'd find elsewhere). We make our money by removing wasted time. By serving many residents at one location and getting the cooperation of your Leasing Team, we minimize the driving time and advertising costs that you'd be paying for by using another service.

  • Do you serve my apartment community?

  • Will I ever need to pay travel compensation for my Butler?

    Rarely. We work with your apartment community to gain access to your unit. This arrangement makes booking especially easy if you are stuck at work or can't make it home.

  • What is travel compensation?

    Only on rare occasions do customers need to pay for their Butler's travel and setup time. It is assessed in situations where a customer's action or inaction prevents their Butler from delivering service. For example: unit locked from the inside, un-contained animal during housekeeping, declined service at the door, no laundry left for pick up, pet not home for pet care, or a changed lock that the Leasing Team is unaware of.

    Travel compensation is as follows:

    Dry Cleaning = $12

    Housekeeping = $35

    Pet Care = 100% of the Price.

    Travel compensation will NOT be applied if your Community's Office, a Third Party, or Apartment Butler has caused your service to be un-deliverable.

  • How do I become a dog walker or housekeeper?

    Our Dog Walkers and Housekeepers get to spend more time working and less time driving. That means more money in your pocket, more time doing what you love, and less stress. We partner with local, established Pet Care & Housekeeping companies to provide high quality, personalized service. For more information, email us at info@apartmentbutler.com.

Pet Care

  • What happens when I book a walk?

    Within 24 hours you will receive a confirmation email summarizing your booking. You can view all of your current and future bookings in the "My Bookings" menu within the app. Shortly after the walk, you will receive a text with an update and picture of your furry friend.

  • Do I always have the same pet sitter?

    Every Apartment Butler community has a primary pet care partner who oversees all pet care. We strive for consistency with our pets, but there are times when a different pet professional is available. We hope that all of our pets get to know each pet sitter over time.

  • Can I book a walk for a specific time?

    Currently, our system works most efficiently (and cost effectively for you) by allowing scheduling in two-hour and three-hour time windows during the morning and afternoon. We'll listen for your feedback over time about whether exact-time scheduling is an important new feature that you'd like for us to add.

  • Can I meet my pet sitter?

    Of course! Our Pet Professionals are onsite most days so feel free to say hello if you see them. If you can't seem to find them, then send us an email at service@apartmentbutler.com and we will let you know when they are on site next or we will work with you to schedule a Meet & Greet.

  • Does Apartment Butler screen pet sitters?

    Our pet sitters go through a rigorous screening process: including a background check and extensive onboarding. They are also fully bonded and insured.

  • Is my dog walked alone or with other dogs?

    Our Pet Services are designed as individual or single household walks. We may provide group walks on special request and on a case by case basis.

  • Can I cancel my booking?

    Yes, you can cancel your Pet Sitting service in the app until 8am on the day of your service. You will receive a $10 reduced credit for cancellations after 5pm on the day before your service, though. Cancellations made after the start of your service window will forfeit the amount paid.

  • Should I tip my dog Pet Sitter?

    A tip is not expected but if you would like to tip your Butler, please email us at service@apartmentbutler.com and we can add a tip to your service.

Housekeeping

  • Who are your cleaners?

    We partner with local, professional cleaning services to make sure you get a great cleaning. Your Butler will be a professional who does this for a living. They are background checked, bonded and insured, top-rated by your neighbors, and trusted by your community's leasing team.

  • Can I schedule an exact time for my cleaning?

    Currently, our system works most efficiently (and cost effectively for you) by allowing morning and afternoon time windows. We'll listen for your feedback over time about whether exact-time scheduling is an important new feature that you'd like for us to add.

  • Do I need to leave my home for the cleaning?

    You can be home if you like, but most customers prefer to give their Butler room to work.

  • Should I tip my housekeeper?

    A tip is not expected but if you would like to tip your Butler, please email us at service@apartmentbutler.com and we can add a tip to your service.

  • Can I cancel my cleaning?

    Yes, you can cancel your booking in the app until 8am on the day of your cleaning. Although, cancellations made after 5pm two days before your cleaning will incur a fee because our Butlers have already reserved their schedule for your cleaning. A refund will be applied to your card on file, net of that fee. Cancellations made after the start of your service window will forfeit the amount paid.

  • Do I need a Basic Cleaning or a Deep Cleaning?

    Our Basic Cleaning is designed for apartments that have been professionally cleaned in the last 2-3 weeks. If it has been 3 weeks or more since your last cleaning, we suggest upgrading to a Deep Clean as our Basic Cleaning might not bring your home back to peak cleanliness.

  • How do I prepare for my cleaning?

    We recommend that you pick up clothes, shoes, clutter, etc. before your Butler arrives. We are not asking you to clean, that is our job, but we want to make sure your Butler can concentrate on cleaning and not organizing.

    Additionally, it is important that you inform us of any security, pet, or access precautions we should take or any other specifics about your household. Please provide any comments in the app while making a booking or email us any time at service@apartmentbutler.com.

  • Do I need to provide the cleaning supplies?

    No, we will provide all the necessary supplies. However, if you have special products that you would like for us to use, we will be happy to use your supplies if left on the counter with a note.

  • Can you only clean part of my apartment?

    We do not currently offer partial unit cleanings, but this is something that we're considering adding in the near future.

  • What do I do if my unit size is not listed?

    Please select the unit size that is closest to the room and bath count of your home. If you do not believe that there is an accurate comparison in our current selection, please email us at service@apartmentbutler.com for assistance.

  • What if I am unhappy with the cleaning or something was not done right?

    If the quality of your Basic or Deep cleaning was not what you expected, please email us at service@apartmentbutler.com within 24 hours, and we will re-do our missed items for no extra charge. We pride ourselves in being your advocate and providing the best customer service.

    Move Out Cleanings are guaranteed to pass your community's inspection. If the cleaning does not pass inspection, we will work directly with your community office to resolve the issue. This guarantee does not cover maintenance items.

  • I'm moving...what cleaning should I book?

    We are unable to provide a Basic or Deep cleaning in an empty apartment.

  • What do I do with my pets while my Butler cleans my home?

    We have certain requirements to safeguard our pets and Butlers. We ask that you please separate all animals (except for cats) from your Butler prior to arrival or while they are cleaning. Kenneling or removing the animal from the apartment is preferred. Your Butler will not be able to clean if an unsecured animal is present in your unit.

  • What if an item is broken or damaged during the cleaning process?

    Your Butler will take the necessary precautions to avoid any incidents at your home and we also carry insurance to give you that peace of mind. If you have any sentimental or valuable items that you consider irreplaceable, please put them aside before your cleaning.

  • How Much Time Do You Spend?

    For each unit size and cleaning package, we have a maximum man-hour allotment to complete our checklist. In some cases, we may not be able to complete our checklist in the allotted time. If this happens, we will notify you immediately upon completing your cleaning.

  • What if the Butler cannot gain access to unit on the day of service?

    If Apartment Butler cannot access your unit because of an issue with our operations or your community, we will offer you the option to reschedule your service for a day when access is available, or we will process a refund if fees were paid no travel compensation will apply.

    If we cannot gain access to your unit because of your action/inaction, we will offer you the option to reschedule one time within the next 7 business days no travel compensation will apply if you reschedule.

    If you choose not to reschedule within the next 7 business days or we do not receive a reply, we will assess travel compensation. For more, see FAQ in the General Section above.

  • Who picks up my clothes?

    Your Butler will pick up your clothes, take them to our cleaning partner, and return them to your unit. All Butlers have undergone extensive screening and a background check.

  • Where do I leave my clothes?

    Just leave your clothes inside your front door and your Butler will pick them up during the day. Be sure to separate Dry Cleaning from Wash & Fold.

  • Can Dry Cleaning and Wash & Fold be in the same bag?

    No, please clearly differentiate between Wash & Fold and Dry Cleaning when setting your clothes by the door for pick up - simply leave us a note. We will provide an additional Apartment Butler laundry bag upon request/delivery for both services.

  • What happens if I leave personal items in my pockets?

    Please ensure all items have been removed from your pockets prior to pick-up. In the event that we do find items in your pockets, we'll return them along with your laundry.

  • Where do you take my clothes?

    We work with trusted and highly-rated local cleaners.

  • When do you pick up and deliver?

    Check your Apartment Butler app for your next available pick up day. Your items will be returned within 2 business days. Some large and/or bulky items may require additional time.

    For example: Monday pickups will be returned on Wednesday; Wednesday pickups will be returned on Friday; Thursday & Friday pickups will be returned the following Monday. Some large and/or bulky items may require additional time.

  • Will you provide a bag for my clothes?

    Yes - we will provide a free bag with each delivery when necessary.

  • Do you do alterations?

    At this time, we do not provide alterations. We hope to add this service in the future.

    We can provide minor repairs to your items by special request.

  • What if I have problem with my order?

Dry Cleaning

  • Do you clean household items?

    Yes, we clean bed linens, curtains, duvets, comforters and rugs. However, some household items require a bit more attention and might be delivered on the second subsequent delivery day, after pick up.

  • Do you clean wedding dresses?

    Yes, we do clean wedding dresses. Contact service@apartmentbutler.com for pricing and info.

  • What happens if my buttons break?

    We are very careful to protect buttons in the laundering process and we replace our press pads frequently. However, shirt buttons are subjected to high heat and become brittle over time. Eventually, some buttons may break and, if we find a cracked or missing button, we closely match it and replace it for you. If a delivered item has a broken button, then let us know at service@apartmentbutler.com and we will fix it at no extra charge.
